During the ceremony, he announced that rehabilitation works on the Dschang Cliff road are nearing completion.<\/p>\r\n<hr \/>\r\n<h2>A landmark day for safety in Dschang<\/h2>\r\n<p>Dschang marked a major milestone on <strong>7 May 2026<\/strong> with the commissioning of its Fire and Rescue Centre.<br \/>The project had been awaited by residents of Menoua Division since 2017.<\/p>\r\n<p>The inauguration highlights strengthened civil protection capacities in the area.<\/p>\r\n<hr \/>\r\n<h2>Inspection visit to Dschang Cliff<\/h2>\r\n<p>Prior to the ceremony, the governor carried out a field visit to the <strong>Dschang Cliff<\/strong>.<br \/>He was accompanied by senior administrative officials, including the Senior Divisional Officer and the Divisional Officer of Dschang.<\/p>\r\n<p>The visit focused on monitoring road rehabilitation progress.<\/p>\r\n<hr \/>\r\n<h2>Road works exceed 80%<\/h2>\r\n<p>Officials on site reported that rehabilitation works have reached <strong>over 80% completion<\/strong>.<br \/>The project is currently in its final phase.<\/p>\r\n<p>Based on these assessments, the governor announced that the road is expected to reopen fully within two weeks, weather permitting.<\/p>\r\n<hr \/>\r\n<h2>A tribute to last year\u2019s landslide victims<\/h2>\r\n<p>During the visit, the governor paid tribute to victims of last year\u2019s landslide at the site.<br \/>He stressed the importance of emergency response services in preventing similar tragedies.<\/p>\r\n<p>The presence of firefighters in Dschang is described as vital.<\/p>\r\n<hr \/>\r\n<h2>A rescue centre funded through private sponsorship<\/h2>\r\n<p>The newly inaugurated rescue centre is located at the former municipal garage site.<br \/>Its rehabilitation was entirely funded by <strong>MP Guillaume Mbakam<\/strong>, CEO of <strong>Green Oil S.A.R.L<\/strong>.<\/p>\r\n<p>The total investment is estimated at <strong>nearly 20 million CFA francs<\/strong>.<\/p>\r\n<hr \/>\r\n<h2>Modern facilities for emergency responders<\/h2>\r\n<p>The project included extensive infrastructure upgrades.<br \/>These cover electrical installations, sanitary facilities, dormitories, a manoeuvring area and a secured parking zone for emergency vehicles.<\/p>\r\n<hr \/>\r\n<h2>Water supply remains a priority challenge<\/h2>\r\n<p>Despite the centre\u2019s commissioning, water access remains a concern.<br \/><strong>Commander Eddy Franck Zemba Kenga<\/strong>, head of the 50th Fire Brigade Group, called for the installation of fire hydrants.<\/p>\r\n<p>He emphasised their importance for operational efficiency during emergencies.<\/p>\r\n<hr \/>\r\n<h2>Governor\u2019s key messages<\/h2>\r\n<p>In his closing remarks, the governor highlighted three core messages.<br \/>These included effective decentralisation, successful public-private partnerships and strict discipline within emergency services.<\/p>\r\n<hr \/>\r\n<h2>A boost for safety and mobility<\/h2>\r\n<p>The commissioning of the rescue centre, alongside the imminent reopening of the cliff road, represents a major step forward.<br \/>It strengthens public safety and
