This Friday, June 26, 2026, Badenkop village, located in Bangou Subdivision, hosted the official inauguration ceremony of the new DENKY Agro-Food processing plant, an initiative of the META INVEST Company SA.<br \/><br \/>This turnkey event was co-chaired by the Minister of Trade, Luc Magloire MBARGA ATANGANA, and the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Gabriel MBA\u00cfROBE, in the presence of Patrick SUH NDELE, Inspector General of Regional Services at West Governor&#8217;s Office, representing of the &#8220;Number 1&#8221; of the Region, Governor AWA FONKA Augustine.<br \/><br \/>This ceremony, which marks an important step in the supervision of the local private sector within this division headquartered in Baham, was attended by divisional and local administrative authorities, stakeholders, and traditional rulers, notably His Majesty the King of Bandenkop. On this occasion, a special tribute was paid to the memory of Mr. and Mrs. TAME SOUMEDJONG.<\/p>\r\n<h2>Technical Potential for Import-Substitution<\/h2>\r\n<p>The commissioning of this industrial jewel materializes the realization of a major project for which public authorities were solicited, thus responding to the Head of State&#8217;s directives regarding local processing. Officially presented to members of the Government, the DENKY plant, under the leadership of its Chief Executive Officer, Mrs. Lisette Claudia TAME NJAMBE, spans a modern site of 5,000 m\u00b2 in the heart of Badenkop.<br \/>This agro-industrial complex integrates a series of high-technology production lines, boasting particularly ambitious annual processing capacities:<\/p>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li>500 tons of maize;<\/li>\r\n<li>5,000 tons of sugar;<\/li>\r\n<li>300 tons of plantains and potatoes;<\/li>\r\n<li>200 tons of fruits;<\/li>\r\n<li>200 tons of pork meat.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<h2>Economic Impulse and Revitalization of Local Agricultural Sectors<\/h2>\r\n<p>On the economic front, the arrival of this new processing unit within the Cameroonian agro-industrial family aims to sustainably structure raw material value chains. Faced with a difficult economic climate that is shaking certain sectors, the establishment of this plant provides a concrete and reassuring response to local farmers regarding the market and destination of their harvests.<br \/>In its long-term vision, the company is committed to supporting and developing local agriculture by encouraging plantation expansion initiatives among already active farmers. The shared objective with the authorities is to federate all actors in the targeted value chains in order to guarantee a regular, viable, and mutually beneficial operation.<\/p>\r\n<h2>Social Impact: Jobs, Equity, and Sound Emulation for the Youth<\/h2>\r\n<p>Beyond industrial performance, the social impact of the plant aligns perfectly with the regional administration&#8217;s priorities for inclusive local development. The project already generates 150 direct jobs and 200 indirect jobs, recruited with strict respect for gender balance and diversity of origin.<br \/>By standing as a model of local success rooted in strong values, this infrastructure aims to create a sound emulation among the youth of the Upper Plateaux, encouraging them to turn towards entrepreneurship and agricultural professions.<br \/>The inauguration of the DENKY factory in Badenkop thus consecrates an exemplary synergy between the State and private operators, consolidating the position of the West Region as an essential hub for the
