International Customs Day 2026: Activities Launched in Bafoussam

Activities marking the 73rd edition of International Customs Day were officially launched on Thursday, January 29, 2026, in Bafoussam, capital of Cameroon’s West Region.

The launch ceremony was chaired by the Minister of Finance, Louis Paul Motaze, in the presence of the Governor of the West Region, Awa Fonka Augustine, and the Director General of Customs, Fongod Edwin Nuvaga.

International Customs Day provides an opportunity to highlight the critical role of customs administrations in trade facilitation, border security, and public revenue mobilization.

The strong institutional presence underscores the importance of this event within Cameroon’s national governance framework.
