On the sidelines of the semiannual sessions of the Administrative Coordination Committee (CCA) and the Operational Coordination Committee (CCO), held in the Bakou District (Haut-Nkam Division), the Governor of the West Region, Awa Fonka Augustine, presided this morning over an important ceremony to inaugurate and officially hand over school infrastructure.
These include major educational facilities for the Technical and Commercial Industrial Training College (CETIC) of Bakou, fully built and equipped by Mr. Youssa Anselme, Chief Executive Officer of SAAGRI S.A.
A Concrete Response to Institutional Recognition by the Ministry of Secondary Education
This state-of-the-art contribution materializes the opening of the Metal Construction (Welding) program within the institution, approved by Ministerial Decision No. 1349/25/MINESEC/SG/DE/STP of October 24, 2025. This high-level institutional recognition gives the initiative a national dimension and significantly strengthens private sector support for the Government of Cameroon in advancing professional secondary education.
The donation, officially handed over to the State, consists of:
- A modern building housing workshops for Electricity and Metal Construction (Welding);
- A complete set of advanced technical equipment and teaching materials, essential for hands-on training;
- A sports area dedicated to extracurricular development.
Solemnity and Respect for Republican Protocol
Despite rainy weather conditions, the regional authority personally carried out the symbolic ribbon-cutting, marking the official commissioning of the technical blocks. This was followed by the reading of the inauguration plaque by the Regional Delegate for Secondary Education.
In his address, Governor Awa Fonka Augustine strongly praised the civic-minded and highly patriotic gesture of SAAGRI S.A.’s CEO, Mr. Youssa Anselme. He emphasized that such synergy between the State and economic operators is a key lever in providing Cameroonian youth with quality training aligned with labor market needs.
He also urged the institution’s management and students to ensure rigorous management and careful maintenance of these valuable facilities.
