These major meetings concluded yesterday, Tuesday, June 9, under the effective chairmanship of the Governor of the West Region.
During the forty-eight hours of deliberations, administrative authorities, heads of the forces of law and order, and regional heads of services drew up a meticulous assessment of the socio-economic, administrative, and security situation of the Region.
In his closing address, the Governor commended the rigor of the exchanges and the commitment of all stakeholders. While issuing firm directives to consolidate peace, security, and development throughout his command unit.
He also announced the venue and set the course for the upcoming second semester session.
THE GOVERNOR’S CLOSING ADDRESS
“Senior Divisional Officers,The Procureur Général at the West Regional Court of Appeal,
Regional Heads of the Forces of Law and Order and Security,
Throughout this second day, we have, as usual, reviewed the general situation of our Region, with a specific focus on security and political matters.
Permit me, therefore, to thank you for all your contributions, and most importantly, to renew my congratulations for the measures taken daily to curb crime in your respective units.
Despite the persistence of criminals, offenders, and separatists, recent incursions—particularly noted in the Noun and Bamboutos Divisions—clearly demonstrate that, despite daily efforts, we cannot afford to relax. We must, more than ever, remain alert, vigilant, and mobilized, while strengthening the cohesion that I have always strongly emphasized between the forces, administrative authorities, and the populations.
This is essential to implement the principle of popular defense advocated by the Head of State, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, who recalled it in the theme of the last 20th May National Day celebration: “National unity, pillar of our defense and bedrock of Cameroon’s development.”
Naturally, I once again appreciate the presence and especially the contribution of the Procureur Général, whose seamless collaboration on a daily basis allows us to adjust and harmonize some of our actions toward achieving the same goals.
It goes without saying that, in addition to the usual routine situations, managing the new challenges we have set for the next six months will add to our concerns and require a readjustment of our strategies.
Beyond all else, and despite all material or human difficulties, I urge you at all times, through your attire and your actions, to project a neat and respectable image of the State you represent, each at your own level, by avoiding and combating any attitude that could compromise or embarrass it.
This is why I prescribe a rigorous application of the recommendations resulting from our exchanges, the richness and frankness of which I truly appreciate, and which will be transmitted to you without delay through the usual channels.
I renew our gratitude to the Senior Divisional Officer, a newly appointed Knight of the Order of Valour, for all the useful and pleasant arrangements made with the assistance of certain elites, notably the Patriarch WANTOU SIANTOU Lucien, Professor DJIENA WEMBOU Cyrille Michel, Senator POUENE Françoise, Mr. Youssa Anselme, CEO of SAAGRY Groups, and the Mayor of the Bakou Council, who welcomed us to this pleasant setting to ensure a peaceful and relaxing stay alongside our serene and important deliberations, in view of our conclusions.
I wish you all a safe journey back, and I hereby declare closed the deliberations of the Coordination and Maintenance of Order Committee for the first semester of 2026, as I look forward to our next conclave in the Menoua Division.
