The development of road infrastructure is entering a new phase. In preparation for the Road Fund evaluation mission scheduled from 4 to 17 May 2026, the Governor of the West Region will chair a decisive working session this Monday, 4 May, at 10:00 a.m.
A Field Mission Scheduled from 4 to 17 May
As part of the monitoring of projects financed by the Road Fund, a field mission will be conducted in the West Region of Cameroon from 4 to 17 May 2026. The objective is to assess the level of execution of road and related projects implemented by municipal councils (project owners) and sectoral administrations.
To prepare for this field deployment, the Governor of the West Region will preside over a working session on Monday, 4 May 2026, at exactly 10:00 a.m., in the first‑floor conference room of the Governor’s Services in Bafoussam.
The meeting will be attended by members of the Road Fund Management Committee, the relevant Regional Delegates, and the municipal executives involved in the projects under review.
Sectoral Delegates and Mayors Called to Mobilize
In addition to the strategic participation of the President of the Regional Council, the Senior Divisional Officer of the Mifi Division, and Members of Parliament for Mifi, particular attention is drawn to the Regional Delegates in charge of:
- Public Works
- Housing and Urban Development
- Transport
- Public Contracts
- Decentralization and Local Development
Councils Concerned by the Mission
On the side of local authorities, the mayors of the following councils are concerned by this operation: Bafang, Bassamba, Bayangam, Bazou, Dschang, Fokoué, Foumban, Njimom, Nkong‑Zem, and Pété‑Bandjoun.
Why this mobilization? The aim is to ensure that the expectations of local populations are heard at the highest level and that each road project becomes a tangible driver of growth for local communities. The strong presence of elected officials and the territorial administration highlights a unity of action in favor of a prosperous West Region.
