The Governor of Cameroon’s West Region has carried out a field visit to Dschang Cliff in Menoua Division. The inspection aims to assess progress on rehabilitation works led by the Ministry of Public Works.
Dschang Cliff, a key traffic corridor
Dschang Cliff is a critical section of the road network in Menoua Division, West Region.
Given its strategic importance, the regional governor visited the site on Wednesday.
The move reflects the administration’s focus on road safety and traffic flow.
Administrative and municipal authorities present
The governor was accompanied by senior officials and local authorities.
Among them were the Senior Divisional Officer for Menoua, Itoe Peter Mbongo.
The Divisional Officer of Dschang Subdivision, Mbellan Edjenguele Max, and Dschang’s Deputy Mayor, Professor Temgoua Emile, were also in attendance.
Rehabilitation works reach 96%
The rehabilitation project is being implemented under the supervision of the Ministry of Public Works.
Officials on site reported an execution rate of 96.04%.
The project has now entered its final phase.
Completion expected within weeks
Engineers indicated that full completion is expected within two weeks, weather conditions permitting.
Traffic has already resumed smoothly along the corridor.
Road users and transport operators have welcomed the improved conditions.
Environmental solution for slope stabilisation
Beyond road rehabilitation, the project includes environmental protection measures.
A total of 400 square metres of Chinese bamboo has been planted to stabilise slopes.
The natural solution helps reduce erosion and landslide risks.
